our home

Welcome to our Home

We are nestled in a quiet part of a village 20 min/11km away from Chiang Mai city center. Perfect for village explorations to the temples, schools and plantations around us. If you love village scenery with local life excursions and do not need the bustling city center every day of your stay then you found the right place.

We would love to share our spacious and pristine home with you in beautiful Northern Thailand. Our property has a sprawling, open-air style of Asian architecture surrounded by lush gardens and orchids. Whether you are a couple looking for a quiet retreat, a big family, or traveling alone, we can accommodate all guests. Our love for detail is reflected in everything we do and we take great joy in pampering our guests. Join us and indulge in a new life style – Thai style.

Marcel and Jim

Our Family

Marcel Genuhn spent his years as a student of Geography and Cultural Anthropology in Tuebingen (D), Durham (GB) and Bangkok. Since receiving his masters degree, he has spent the past 20 years working as a cultural guide in many Asian countries. Despite his love for traveling, he prefers to spend his time taking good care of his house guests and a huge mature tropical garden. Under his green thumb his 15-year old garden blossomed into an oasis of orchids, kitchen herbs, palms and many other native plants.

Mrs. Pranom Genuhn (Jim) is the heart and soul of our home. She is a trained nurse and has an accomplished a career in design. Now in Chiang Mai she enjoys teaching Thai culture and Thai language at the Christian German School of Chiang Mai nearby (5 min by bicycle). She loves to teach our house guests the art of Thai cooking whenever somebody likes to join in for cooking lunch or dinner. As a licensed tour guide, she also loves to show our house guests around.

Cooking School

We would be delighted to transform you into a Thai chef within a few days, or even just a few hours. Jim is an acclaimed Thai Cookery School teacher with many years of experience teaching in English and German. We are happy to work with you to create a menu that suits your tastes. Whether we are making our own curry paste or frying up a noodle dish, creating traditional Thai food is fun and relaxing in our spacious open-air kitchen.
