Activities

We recommend you spend 4-5 days exploring Chiang Mai as you will feel charmed and relaxed by the Northern way of life. If you like, we would be happy to help you arrange any excursions with local agencies or with us directly - we have a big 4 wheeler and lots of bicycles.

There are many options for daily short or long excursions and we recommend exploring the nearby interesting spots by bicycle.

We offer cooking classes so you can become a Thai chef. Classes start with a visit to our local markets followed by hands-on instruction in our beautiful open air kitchen.

Visit the recently excavated ruins and temples of Wiang Kum Kam, older than Chiang Mai (700 y). That area receives a lot of local attention as it comes with a big museum, a very old and revered temple and more.

Then there is the river with never ending vistas of the local villages and landscapes. Lots of Chiang Mai city bicycle tours offer our area for a daily trip. You just take our bicycle and go.

The old city of Chiang Mai is oozing with old temples and interesting markets, but it is too noisy and bustling to spend more than half a day at a time.

From your room you can see the beautiful holy mountain of Doi Suthep with a revered mountain temple, great vistas and a national park surrounding it. (Half day trip.)

Enjoy shopping in a huge array of local handicraft centers and workplaces. Silver, umbrellas, textiles made of silk and cotton, wood carving and lacquer ware are just a few of the traditionally crafted products sold around Chiang Mai.

Finally, you might be tempted to spend a day in the Doi Inthanon National Park where you can enjoy the roof of Thailand with an extremely unique untouched evergreen forest. Plenty of waterfalls, hikes for beginners and advanced trekkers and so on.

For further options, get in touch with us long before arriving here as we can recommend and arrange trips by foot, elephant, boat, bus or bike through beautiful Northern Thailand, Pai and so on. Even magic Luang Prabang is not that far away, just a day by car and two days by an amazing Mekong river trip.
